Getting to Walt Disney World from Orlando Airport

With Disney’s Magical Express service no longer running, people must work out another way to get from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Walt Disney World.

In this article, we will look at the options in travelling from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Walt Disney World.

Uber / Lyft

While prices can surge and not everyone is comfortable with rideshare it is normally hard to beat on price and convenience.

Your App will tell you how much it will cost to get you to your destination together with estimated pickup and drop-off times.

Pickups usually only take a few minutes (except during late night hours), and you’re driven directly to your resort. Note that if you need a car with achild seatthen you can often wait a lot longer.

Costs can vary dramatically from standard to peak times with a surge of 100% not uncommon.

Shuttle Bus Services.

There are currently two shuttle services —Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer. While they can be cheaper than Uber they are less convenient and once you have three or more in your group, the price will become similar to Uber.

One downside of the shuttle bus services is, unlike the other options, the shuttle buses only serve specific hotels and you will have to wait if you want to use the Express service that goes straight to your hotel unlike the Standard service which as multiple stops..

Once you have more than two passengers in the Standard service then it becomes cheaper to use Uber or Lyft for your journey

The cost of using the Express service is similar to a private car service,

Private Car Service.

Private car services such as Alkar Transport are more convenient and more expensive than Uber, but good for guests who are uncomfortable with rideshare and want a luxury experience with facilities like child seats.

You will pre-book our private car service who will meet you with a sign with your name on it when your flight arrives and will be equipped with your requests such as car seat. The price will be fixed and could be comparable to Uber at peak times but will often be higher due to the luxury service on offer.

Car Rental

If you plan to hire a car when you visit Orlando the arranging for the pickup to be at Orlando makes a lot of sense but if you are worried about finding your way from the airport to the resort it is less appealing.

Note that it will take a lot longer to pick up your car at Orlando airport than using any of the other options, so if time is not on your side then this is not the best option.

Taxi Cab

If you like a traditional taxi cab service then you can find a licensed cab and you will pay the metered fare.

• Taxis are at Terminal A on the Ground Transportation Curb (Level 1) in spaces A22-A25
• Taxis are at Terminal B on the Ground Transportation Curb (Level 1) in spaces B30-B34
• Taxis are at Terminal C on the Arrivals Curb (Level 6)

Flat rate fees are not allowed so metered rates will vary.
